It's Friday which means it's time for TJ's Quicktip! Each week I will show you a tip or trick within Mac OS X or iOS, this week I show you how to transfer music and video to your iPad, iPhone or iPod. Firstly your music and video files will need to be imported into iTunes in the appropriate file formats. Music can be in AAC or MP3 format and video can be in MOV or MP4 format, there are few other formats but these are the most popular and widely used. When you connect your iDevice it will show in the left hand pane in iTunes beneath your library containing all of your media. By default your device will sync everything over automatically, but you can manage it manually by placing a tick in the relevant box at the bottom of the screen on your selected device. In this case you can then manually drag and drop items from your library onto the icon relating to your device in the left hand pane, it will then be synced over. To manage content automatically connect your device and navigate through each media type across the top of the iTunes window and ensure that the box is ticked to sync all content over automatically. You can leave this box unticked for some media types if you don't want everything synced automatically. You can then tick only the items that you want to sync over and hit Sync in the bottom right hand corner to apply any changes.
