Depending on what you're looking for in an action cam, the Virb X or Virb XE could be the best action camera for you. For sure, you'll see the XE on my top 5 best action cameras list, which you can find here (http://goo.gl/U3H9Dz). I think they can go toe-to-toe with your best GoPro camera in pretty much any department. The Virbs are water rated down to 50 meters without an additional housing unit, which is industry leading...that's crazy! They also record a lot of information about what you're doing and give you the option to overlay this information on the video in the editing process. For example, you can show gauges, graphs, and charts for speed, g-force, location, heart rate (if paired w/ ANT+ HRM), and much more! It's pretty crazy and definitely was a highlight point for me. Even more, they can be controlled via a number of Garmin devices. I've actually been using my fenix 3 to control the XE quite a bit and it works beautifully. In terms of media quality, the XE shoots up to 1080p60, 960p100, 720p120, and 480p240, so yes it does have super slow mo abilities. It also takes up to 12MP stills at 30fps. It has electronic image stabilization and professional-grade video controls for white balance, etc. The Virb X loses EIS and these controls and can only shoot up to 1080p30 and 12MP stills at 10fps. Ok, so that's enough for the description.
