Successful Remote control of Lab Software

Hello all. These are exciting times. Amazing tools are now available to solve our problems. The situation is as follows. Students in Mackay Campus require access to Software which is currently installed and security locked to the Rockhampton Campus. With the aid of Chrome (web browser) and a free extension called Chrome Remote Desktop this problem is easily solved. Steps: 1) The Lab PC has a generic local login. 2) Chrome and its Remote Desktop extension is installed. 3) Login and through Chrome's extension "share the desktop". This generates a 9 digit access code. 4) Give this access code to the Remotely located student. 5) The student runs Chrome \ Chrome Remote Desktop. They select the Access PC option. Then enter the 9 digit code. 6) Access is completed. They can run the programs installed on the Lab's PC. Why is this fantastic? With the only limit being the number of computers in my lab I can "supervise" a virtual lab. My students could be located in any location around the world. The constraint being the lag time between their PC and the lab PC. Initial tests show for this campuses current needs lags are insignificant.
